In 1999 Dr Masaru Emoto published a book called ‘The Hidden Messages in Water’. Dr Emoto had been experimenting with freezing water and then crystallising it. Before freezing the distilled water Dr Emoto played directly with the water using various different tools such as the ring tones of mobile phones, music and the vocals of human beings. Once the water was frozen, he photographed the crystals and logged them to see if he could find any correlation between the various messages sent to the water.
Dr Emoto originally started researching different types of water such as water from Tokyo’s water system and natural spring water. He performed the same process of crystallising the water and then photographing it. The water from various places of collection was separated into petri dishes. It become clear that water from natural springs all performed in the same respect, giving a beautiful formation of crystals while the Tokyo water showed an ugly formation due to chlorination. Dr Emoto said that chlorine completely destroyed the structure of the water.
After researching the different waters available to Dr Emoto he moved onto classical music and found the beauty of water crystals forming when exposed to the music.
More oddly was the later tests that were conducted using a pen and paper with words written onto the paper and then stuck to the bottle that contained the distilled water. Dr Emoto found that words like “Love”, “Gratitude” and “Compassion” turned water into beautiful crystals. As you would expect words like “hate” and “do it” turned the water into non crystallised, disrupted expressions. He also performed some research on lakes, taking water before and after Buddhist healing prayers were performed and the same order followed.
Dr Emoto demonstrated over and again that even just a word that’s written to a piece of paper has profound effects on something external to our thoughts and us. Our body is about 60% water and by our unconscious thoughts that most of us experience on a daily basis without even being aware, it’s likely that we are manifesting these thoughts in our body which can develop stress into sickness and happiness into health. Epigenetics is now beginning to demonstrate that Genes can express in more than 30,000 different ways. Our planet that has over 7 billion people inhabiting it and we are surrounded by water. About 71% of the earths surface is covered by water. The water we drink and the air we breathe, our cells, life cannot exist without this precious liquid, it surrounds us from the beginning until the end and then carries on without us. This constant cycle that the earth provides us to sustain this life that we experience is endless.
Through a simple dedicated practise of meditation you can become more conscious of your thoughts, giving you better control over your emotions, leading you to a happier more meaningful life and one of the knock on effects, you effect the external world around you in a positive way without any real effort other than being you.
