Learn how to stop Social Anxiety

One thing I used to greatly suffer with was being around people. Putting me in a room with a group full of people or even just one person, I used to find it hard dealing with those around me even for a few minutes. My feelings generally started and finished with flushes of nerves. If you are not someone like this and have never experienced this before, its uncomfortable and scary, and the feelings of being on edge and not really able to think, let alone talk are difficult to deal with. Even if you haven’t experienced this and want some super tips to live without fear then you should read on.

Today I want to share with you visualisations and how using visualisations can really change the way you approach a social situation and in fact turn the social situation on its back and actually enjoy those moments when you are in the company of another person.

Know situation is bad or good from the foundation but adding ourselves into that situation can either make it bad or good, depending on the experience we have associated with the situation. By approaching those situations before hand with a positive outlook can dramatically increase your positive feelings towards it.

Here are 8 tips to start using when you have to go into a situation that you are uncomfortable with:

1, Just remember that you can either enjoy yourself and make some fun of a situation or you can make it into a bag of nerves.

2, Start making every situation a rehearsal, the more you practice the better you get. Continue putting yourself in those moments that you are most uncomfortable with, the more you do it, the more improvements are made and remind yourself that you are putting yourself in those situations for this reason.

3, Start believing in you. If you don’t believe in yourself then don’t expect anyone else to. Start visualising this determination within you.

4, You can’t be liked by everyone and don’t even think this is possible. Bring the truest form of who you are and give yourself fully to that moment.

5, Learn to fall in love with that moment as that moment is all you can ever experience at anyone time.

6, Before going to a moment, start to fall in love with the idea of being there and seeing who ever it is you are going to be with. When we feel nervous about going into a situation, this is because you are doing the opposite and experiencing fear and worry of a nightmare situation.

7, Put a smile on your face even though at the beginning it may seem a little silly, keep doing it even if you don’t mean it and eventually that make shift smile will not only be real but you will start to glow from within.

8, Finally, start recognising what are negative emotions to you and see if you can become aware of them at the time they come into existence. Look at the emotion and see it for what it really is, just an emotion. This will counter any sort of negative feeling.

Don’t forget that you have a maximum of 100 years to live and question whether those 100 years are going to be in a state of worry and anxiety or bring your truest self and learn to love yourself in order to let others love you.
